Once upon a time there was widower father.
He was a blacksmith with three daughters. Jane the oldest sister and Marie the
middle sister were mean to their young step-sister Victoria. Victoria’s
mother passed away giving birth to Victoria.
Her father adored Victoria.
Jane and Marie envied Victoria
because of her looks. Victoria
had long curly brunet hair with light brown eyes that sparkled in the sunlight.
Unlike Victoria’s
step-sisters they had dirty blond hair with dull gray eyes. Jane and Marie
never got tired of always bossing Victoria around giving her more and more to
do. Victoria
followed orders without a complaint, even thought she did not want to. Victoria always dreamed
of her Prince Charming to come to taker her away from the miserable life she
had with her step-sisters.
One day a servant from the castle was sent
by the prince to go door to door and announce that there would be a big ball. That the prince was searching for princess to become queen. Victoria was thrilled about the ball. She
was hoping that she would finish her chores on time so she could attend the
ball.
A week had pass since the announcement had
been announced. Victoria
had been working on her dress she would wear to the ball. Victoria dedicated all of her time on the
dress when she finished with her chores. Finally, Victoria had finished with her gorgeous
white dress. Victoria
was proud of herself. She couldn’t wait to wear the gorgeous dress to the ball.
One night while Victoria went to gather wood for the fire
before she would leave to go to the ball. Jane and Marie had looked through Victoria’s wardrobe to see the dress Victoria would wear to the ball. Marie found
the gorgeous white dress. Victoria
had worked to wear to the dress to the ball. Jane could not stand the way the dress looked
so gorgeous and especially imagining Victoria
wearing the white dress. Both Jane and Marie decided to destroy the gorgeous
white dress Victoria
worked on. Jane started to rip the bow on the dress while Marie grabbed the
scissors and starting cutting the bottom of the dress. Jane and Marie both
quickly destroyed the dress before Victoria
got back form gathering wood. Until, the dress had no were else to destroy Jane
and Marie left for the ball already having their ball dressed on, so it would not
look like they had destroyed the gorgeous white dress.
After Victoria arrived from gathering wood and
kept the fire burning she went to her to give her dress the last details, so
she could wear it to the ball. When Victoria
saw what had happened to her gorgeous white dress a small tear tolled down her
check. She started sobbing and saying, “Now I can not go to the ball!”
Victoria
stopped crying until she cried the last drop of tear out. She was terribly
upset that now she had no dress and no chance to have a dance with the prince. Victoria tried to fix
the dress but she knew it would be impossible and too late to fix the dress. Victoria had no idea
what was in front of her when a white beam of light started with a lovely white
night dress. Victoria
thought she was dreaming and pinched herself, but the beautiful woman was still
there. Victoria
was scared and shocked to speak.
“Who are you?”, asked Victoria with a high pitch voice.
“I am your mother. Elizabeth. You don’t recognize me because you
never knew me, but now here I am to help you.”, replied Elizabeth.
“How can you be my mother, when my mother
passed away when she gave birth to me?”, asked Victoria.
“I might be gone physically, but
spiritually I’m always with you to protect you.”, said Elizabeth.
“Oh”, said Victoria.
“That is why I’m here to help you, so you
can go to the ball and have that dance with the prince you want.”, said Victoria’s mother.
“I could never go to the ball with a dress
looking like that.”, pointed Victoria
to the dress.
“And besides it would take a miracle to
fix the dress!”, Victoria
kept saying.
“Well sweetie like I said that’s why I’m
here to help with that. Just close your eyes and count to three.”, said Elizabeth with a ware
smile. Victoria
did as she was told.
“Okay, now open your eyes”, said her
mother.
When Victoria opened her eyes she was speechless.
She could not believe that the white gorgeous dress that had been destroyed was
not the most beautiful dress she had ever seen. The dress was long lavender
dress with beautiful designing on the bottom part of the dress.
“Thank you so much mom”, said Victoria for the first
time.
“You are welcome daughter of mine”,
replied her mother.
“Now hurry. Put the dress on the then you
shall leave for the ball that awaits you.”, said Victoria’s mother.
Victoria
put the dress on and then made a face that her mother noticed.
“What’s wrong Victoria? Did you not like the dress?”,
asked Victoria’s
mother.
“No, No, No, it is not that. I love this
dress you have given me. It’s that I won’t make it on time to the ball if I go
walking”, said Victoria
with an upset face.
“No, need to worry for that Victoria. I got it all
taken care of. You will be riding a Spanish Horse that is waiting for you
outside”, replied Victoria’s
mother with a smile.
“Wow. I do not know how I will be able to
ever repay mom”, said Victoria
with teary eyes.
“There’s no need for you to start crying
because it will ruin your make-up. Do not worry about repaying me Victoria. All I want is
for you to be happy. But promise me something Victoria.”,
asked Elizabeth.
“Okay. What is it?”, asked Victoria.
“ I want you to wear this gold necklace
with a charm shaped as a heart. Inside the heart it will have an engraved
letter, V.”, said Victoria’s mother.
“Okay I can do that”, said Victoria.
“But if the necklace falls off your dress
will turn into the torn up white dress”, said Victoria’s mother.
“Okay”, replied Victoria.
Victoria
turned around for a second, but before she knew it her mother had vanished out
of thin air. Victoria
wished she could have talked longer with her mother but she couldn’t because it
was getting late for the ball.
When Victoria arrived with her beautiful dress
riding the Spanish horse all eyes were on her. Jane and Marie didn’t recognize
who the beautiful girl had been. The people of the town didn’t know who this
beautiful girl was or where she came from.
Later that night Victoria looked down to see if her necklace
was still there. Victoria
was relieved because she still had enough time to still dance with the prince. Victoria did not know if
to wait for the prince to ask her for a dance or if she would go up to him to
dance. But before Victoria
knew it the prince had been heading her way to ask her for a dance.
“May I have this dance?”, asked the prince
in a soft voice.
“Of course you may”, replied Victoria blushing. The
prince and Victoria headed to the middle of the dance floor and started
dancing. Victoria
didn’t know what to say during the prince and her dance. Victoria thought the dance would never come
to an end.
Until finally the music stopped. The
prince kissed her hand and again Victoria’s
cheeks were bright pink. The prince asked her if she wanted to accompany him to
the garden of the castle. Of course she didn’t want to pass up on an
opportunity that she would never get.
Victoria
followed the prince to the garden.
“I enjoyed that dance with you.”, said the
prince. Victoria
blushed and looked down. But when she looked down she noticed that her necklace
was missing.
“Oh no!”, gasped Victoria.
“What’s wrong?”, asked the prince.
“I have to go now.”, said Victoria and ran out.
“But wait, I don’t even know your name.”
said the prince, but it was to late Victoria
had already left. When the prince looked down at the ground he noticed a golden
necklace with a heart shaped charm. The prince then figured out why the girl he
met had left.
The next day everyone was talking about
the mysterious girl that came to the ball and left running from the castle.
Jane and Marie asked Victoria
if she knew anything about the mysterious girl that was at the ball.
“Oops, never mind you know nothing about
the ball since you didn’t go because your dress was destroyed.”, said Jane. Jane
and Marie just walked off laughing at Victoria.
Victoria
did not say anything.
Later that day someone knocked at Victoria’s house. The
same servant that worked at the castle was asking that if any girl was missing
a golden chain with a heart shaped necklace.
“Yes, I lost my necklace yesterday and I don’t
know were I lost it.”, said Victoria.
“Well it doesn’t happen to be this
necklace would it”, said the servant holding Victoria’s necklace that her mother had
given her.
“Yes it is”, she said with a smile on her
face.
“Dear prince we have found your princess”,
shouted the servant to the prince that was next door.
“Found who?”, asked Victoria in a confused voice.
“You are the girl the prince is looking,
and now you will become his queen. Unless you do not wish to marry the prince.”,
said the servant.
“Of course I would”, said Victoria.
“Well next week there shall be a wedding”,
said the prince coming toward Victoria.
A week later passed. Victoria and the prince married and they
lived happily ever after.
